OUR BELIEF

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments alone, is the divine inspiration and supreme authority of the written word of God. We believe in its trustworthiness and verbal inspiration. It is the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man, and the supreme, infallible authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

God

We Believe in the One Triune God and the unity of the Godhead, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. They are equally perfect in every divine quality, and execute distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

The Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

We believe He is the incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ — conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin, in His miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in God the Holy Spirit and His ministry who comes from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

Mankind

We believe in the dignity of all mankind, made male and female in the image of God to share in His love and holiness. Through the fall sin entered the world and corrupted the relationship between mankind and God. Therefore, mankind has become by nature, choice and practice sinners. We believe, therefore, those who believe in the God of love, repent of their sins and by faith receive Christ as Lord and Saviour will be restored in the eternal relationship with God and be forgiven, and those who refuse to receive Christ as Lord and Saviour will be forever separated from God.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is achieved through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection on the third day. Salvation is freely given to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of their life. He alone obtained through His blood the eternal redemption for the believer. To believe in Christ is to receive the forgiveness of sins and to follow Him as the Lord of our lives. When we do so we are born again, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who enables us to live life in all its fullness. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

Baptism

We believe in baptism of believers after salvation in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We practise baptism by immersion; we do not practise infant baptism or any form of sprinkling for infants or adults. We believe baptism is an outward expression of our faith in Jesus Christ and a public testimony of what God has done by His grace.

We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it.

The Church

We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is local and universal, a spiritual body of believers from every tribe, tongue, kindred and race of peoples, and is indwelt by God through the Holy Spirit and divinely empowered to fulfil ministry and her Great Commission on earth.
